Why a PharmD is Learning C# and .NET

  • by

As a PharmD, my career has been rooted in healthcare, but I’ve always been drawn to problem-solving and technology. Recently, I decided to step into the world of programming—specifically, C# and .NET. It’s a chance to combine my analytical mindset with the endless possibilities of software development.

Why C# and .NET?

  • A Logical Framework:
    • C# and .NET are versatile technologies, powering everything from desktop applications to enterprise web systems. Their structured approach resonates with how I analyze and solve problems in healthcare.
  • A Natural Transition:
    • As a PharmD, I’ve worked with clinical software and informatics tools, which sparked my curiosity about the technology behind them. Learning .NET feels like a natural step to understanding and potentially building these tools.

My Plan:

I’m documenting my learning journey here, sharing the progress I make, challenges I face, and insights I gain. Whether it’s coding exercises, debugging breakthroughs, or project ideas, this space will track my growth and connect me with others on similar paths.
